Out Of The Saddle 2014

On Saturday I attended the Out of the Saddle charity night with brothers Russell and Dean Downing where they were raising money for Weston Park hospital in Sheffield which is one place close to my heart to try and help out. There was some fab auction items up for grabs a jersey from Laura Trott, a one off Rich Mitch Wiggo print I had donated the first edition of my latest limited edition screenprint "Handsome" which went for a whopping £500. Tickhill Grand Prix

Well this Sunday it finally takes place starting at 1pm the Tickhill Grand Prix which will provide some great cycling races. The women's category have record numbers for one; the Grand Prix trophy by sculptor Michael Johnson looks great which splits into two for equal status for the Mens elite and Women's Elite races. My fave prize is the Fentons flying sausage junior rider award; cannot wait to see which young talent wins that this year. Strava: June MTS

This month a mate of mine took it upon to take on the June MTS challenge on Strava do do as many miles as possible on the bike for the whole of June. Today he went through the 5000Km bracket. Last Month on Strava for the May MTS I'm sure the winner won it with 5200km; things are hotting up and I reckon this month will top 6000km plus....

Sorry folks been real busy with my working life I forget about my blog. But also find me on twitter and instagram for bite size updates of where and what I'm up to. I'm loving instagram forcing myself to take photos once again like my student days. Jeez I'm getting older; I'm 36 in December where does the time go folks....

Partridge

Well I must see pheasants and partridge every week on my excursions on the bike. I've composed this rather seasonal image up today. Next week we are half way through May, I'm getting a whiff of June the half way marker to Christmas. It will soon be upon us again folks....

Bird On A Bike

Along with the Tickhill Grand Prix happening on the 24th of August; Doncaster are celebrating cycling with some Crit racing in June along with a cycling based exhibition at Doncaster Museum; over twitter I got asked to draw a bird on a bike, here it is hope you like him readers. Today along with artworking I did a swift 30 miles on my lonesome on the bike...

Another Cycle Crest

Today I've conjured up this cycling crest which in my mind feels better previously posted. I've been really interested in past cycle crest designs. I've been heavily researching them.  Yesterday I visited a sculptor to discuss the development of the Tickhill Grand Prix trophy. Mark my words its gonna be quite a piece of work...

Here is a detail from my new limited edition screenprint which is based around the Tour de France coming to good old Yorkshire. I have to admit when I'm cycling with the lads its a subject that gets mentioned now on practically every ride. There are a lot of excited folk that cannot wait for this event to roar through Yorkshire...

Me & Paul Smith At The Design Museum

On Wednesday I visited London and popped along to see the Paul Smith exhibition "Hello,My Name Is Paul Smith at the Design Museum. I'd been looking forward to this visit since its launch in November last year and having watched the documentary with Alan Yentob interviewing Sir Paul on his life and work for the BBC. But imagine my surprise in finding one of my limited edition prints on show amongst all his fantastic collection of photos, paintings and prints. It's a great showcase of his fashion his private collection which show the foundations for the label's lasting success.

1st Post

Happy New Year readers, I'm hoping for a great 2014. A lot of people don't like January and I have to admit I'm not a fan of the cold weather it hampers my cycling plans.  But what I like to do at this time of year is plan and list myself some personal targets or goals. One of mine is to just keep drawing more and enjoying my bike.
