Today I've been packing prints, resolving a pen drawing but in the process ruined three expensive pieces of paper. I felt a mixture of frustration and anger with ruining such great paper. Any how we continue or at least after a brew.

Merry Christmas readers; I surfaced this morning quite late for me at 8.20 am. But Father Christmas did visit me, delivering me a Nuts magazine calender, shirt, socks and pant combo. I've had an excellent dinner and digested the Queen speech where she delivered a message based on the importance of sports; she did forget to mention my solo show next May of a sporting nature. But here goes another reminder its at Hornseys, Ripon from May the 14th 2011; the private view is from 6pm - 9pm.

Also today I almost felt like putting my shorts on today its got warmer today at Donny it was -2 a bit of an improvement of recent - 9 weather. Reet kettle on.

It's Day 2 of advent and looking outside, I've got about 16 to 20 inch of snow in the garden and a good collection of blue tits and other garden visitors. The sky looks full of snow and its coming down like a good un. Reet this lad need a hot drink for sure.

Mr Drury has sent me a photo he was out in the wild with his keen eye and spotted a Tee I did for Super- Superficial in London. Well readers its getting even more chilly I'm sure; I have my scarf on indoors we try and continue. Mine is the orange tee with a dancing policeman on in this photo by the way readers.
Well I'm yet to spot an actual snowman which has been made yet by some youngster or daft adult like me. I've not seen any with this recent weather. I did see a chap try to steal a young lads bike; that back fired on him as about twenty youngsters pelted him with snowballs it was great to watch. It was like a scene from the Beano.

The other week in my dads paper they were celebrating 40 years of page 3; I noticed veteran illustrator Brian Grimwood had some page 3 luvvie round his studio and he'd produced a beautiful pen drawing it was awesome and leapt of the page. How come I don't get them gigs.
Here you go a bit of New work produced for Bolton College which I've completed for there sustainability officer. A little while ago readers; I've found a flat cap I'd forgotten all about, good timing because it's freezing cold. I should stop going for all these haircuts.
Wednesday, 24 November 2010
Today I went for a haircut, I was gonna discuss with my usual hairdresser how she was getting on with her cycling but she wasn't there sadly to discuss. All the reports indicate there is snow en route. I feel a brew should be en route for me right now at the time of writing.
Monday, 22 November 2010

I read in my paper today Quentin Blake has drawn 20 murals for a children's theatre. For the unveiling, he'll be interviewed by lifelong fan Jude Law this saturday at the Unicorn Theatre, London SE1. If I was down London this saturday I'd go meet two of my hero's. Well Jude does play Doctor Watson in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes quite well. I once went and watched Jude in Alfie on my own once. Plus his sister is a good artist.

Well I've been out and got me a copy, cannot believe the boys left me out of the final cover artwork due to my large appendage see above. I'm liking "Eight letters" with the vocals of Mr Orange at the end following Mr Barlow's fine work. But track six makes me smile whilst drawing with a brew.
Saturday, 13 November 2010
Well I've managed to pull something in my foot which is is painful off and on. I'm gonna have some of my prints hanging in a new wing of Rudding Park hotel in Harrogate. Lovers, golfers and business folk will happily lay back and possibly admire my work. Meanwhile I'm likely to be eating chicken BBQ wings. This week I've been over to the University of Salford tutoring and learnt david ryan robinson is one talent to watch out for me thinks. He looks like a young Rob Ryan I look like a judge jules wannabe. Just keep drawing lad.

Find me in tomorrow's Guardian Sport section for a small illustration installment by me it's a serious one. On Saturday the 6th of November I attended "Out of the Saddle 2" an evening with Russell and Dean Downing at Sitwell Golf club Rotherham; with a host of cycling superstars including Malcolm Elliot; whom I remember watching on Blue Peter as a kid on one show I'm positive?I'm 32 next month if your wondering; Malcolm is how old ?; well he is a veteran but he's still "Got It" and out performs a lot and a real inspiration. The evening was to raise money for the Danny Porter Foundation which raises money for cancer research. The evening was really fun and it raised a heap of money through the auction and a great raffle. It was funny seeing Doug who won the flat screen telly it was a big as him I reckon. One of my limited edition screen prints was auctioned and sport presenter David Harmon snapped it up. Other items included a signed team Sky jersey some mark cavendish kit an Alberto Contador yellow jersey among some super Rapha threads. Big thanks to Adam Tranter from Fusion Media Services Ltd for the photos above.

Well I spend weeks without making public appearances or doing social functions the recluse I am and two functions take place in a week. This made me chuckle a little earlier this cover photograph. I'll get this in before the photos from tonight hit my blog and facebook. I resolved what I was wearing before I saw this photo, I really did. Tonight I'm off for a charity function at Sitwell in Rotherham alongside Dean Downing and his brother Russell Downing among a host of others, it shall be fun times.
Well Thursday night myself and the Wash crew attended the launch night "the Big Bang" to celebrate the completion of the new build Bolton College. It was great seeing my artwork on screens all round the new campus. The new college looks fantastic in design; I would love to have studied in that environment, if I had my student days a second time round.

Well earlier I've done a bit more reading on the redesign of the Savoy in London by John Rushworth from Pentagram. Work began in 2007 and they have gone over the 100 million budget I believe. Maybe one day I'll get to spend a night there eh! or at least have an afternoon tea there with a lady. I did have the pleasure of meeting John a few years back; he's a smashing bloke. I hope I have the pleasure of working with him again.
Tuesday, 2 November 2010

"Reet kettle on tally oh!".

Yesterday evening, my neighbour was discussing downloading issues with his mp3 player. Apparently he downloaded the Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow duet twice before he could get it for a family member.Ok we believe you sir. My neighbour also discussed how the man over the road has quickly moved in a romanian lady and hasn't been seen since. We both concluded he will surface when he's needing some iron tablets.

Well here are some photos of Aspire the college guide / prospectus for the new build 90 million pound Bolton College. I worked with the nice folk at Wash Design it's been on the cards for a while. Andy Walmsley Creative Director had me onboard this year and it's been great to integrate my illustrations / visual language into this new look college guide breaking away from the standard photos of college students. Many thanks to Emma Smart at Wash for working patiently with me.
Panic Not readers my bike seat issue is resolved I can go back riding soon, after visiting the bike shop and seeing some friendly faces in Donny.Very soon I'll be on my bike. But for now as it darkens outside increasingly for another night my kettle is going on pronto.
I'll get this one in before the big day. But I'll let you know if any ladies drop by my place dressed liked this with there trick or treating antics. Halloween eh!; readers how is that nearly upon us once more. I'm getting old; life is passing me by far too quick.
Sunday, 24 October 2010
On my travels yesterday I picked this book up illustrated by my mate Dominic Trevett; Now I must get him at some stage to sign my copy. I shall enjoy reading this book. The illustrations look rather good too. This morning it was very cold; so cold I'm putting it down as the reason why the bolt sheared on my seat post and the seat came off and I nearly did too. Or at the very least nearly hurt my willy! "We Continue".
