I've resolved an image probably the largest illustration I've done in a while. It involves bikes, workmen one is adopting a Usain Bolt stance [ whom I'm sad to learn this morning has been involved in a car smash], it involves some tea in this image and a cheeky looking lady. Just your bog standard Al heighton image really. Chop, chop kettle on.

Firming Serum

Well reader's I've had the giggles all morning. I spotted product of the month in a well known store in the beauty department. It was "Breast Firming Serum", now this is either miracle working stuff or it will be talked about on Watchdog most likely. I wonder if they do a "Moob Firming Serum".

I drew these dudes up this aft after a bite to eat. Then thought I'd draw them up proper for a laugh. Its been a rainy afternoon at my end today readers.

The Reader

Ok readers this is part of an image I've resolved this morning, whilst listening to some Pop music a couple of chaps that have survived the pop industry for over twenty years. reet I need a brew.

The Sunday Project

Readers I've done some miles on the bike this weekend for sure. My legs know about it. I've done myself a Munny for me. I've snapped it on my mobile telefunken hence the quality of the photos. But maybe it adds mood to the little fella which I've drawn up.

Back On The Road

Yesterday I was slowed up with a puncture the first in months and months. I've corrected it this morning and will be out this afternoon keeping fit and hopefully working on the tan lines maybe? should the sun keep shining. I've also purchased some pens this morning for a little project that I want to complete; that will feature on this blog soon.

Flux Magazine; Do You Believe?

Been over to Manchester, thanks Carolyn for taking me to Mr Scruff's tea room I like it in there. I got me a copy of the splendid Flux magazine, Issue 68 the Do You Believe issue. Find my comments on page 23 " I believe being a 'creative', image maker, illustrator is the most fun thing to do for a living. Many thanks John Walsh for including my contribution. I needed another tee like a hole in the head but I bought a fantastic tee by Parra.

Today readers I've spent a lot of time on the telefunken "telephone" to you and me. The sun I notice is out again I've even had the lycra shorts on at one point today. I need to get a tan, gotta work on the tan.

Sword And The Brew

I was thinking of a pop video earlier; Sting's "If I ever lose my faith", and I remember reading about King Arthur  and the sword and the stone. Somehow readers I arrived at this image.

Readers check this little dude protecting his deer. It looks sunny outside like yesterday, the masses will be basking in the sunshine on lunch breaks today I'm sure.

Tea Towel

I'm really enjoying Hell's Kitchen, I wish I could wear a tea towel on my head and talk in educational riddles. Gutted the young lad got the boot. Marco Pierre White even pulls the headgear off in front of the attractive ladies to boot you have to credit that readers. Perhaps I will adopt the tactic of wearing a tea towel on my head to hide my ever increasing receding hairline. For later the doctor has served up Transporter 3 on dvd; I'll admit to you in the tree of trust; some fast action, crazy stunts, quirky dialogue every now and again I like to digest and Jason Statham delivers. Thas come a long way from your diving days Mr Statham. I especially like the ageing french policeman in this series of films he is cool. I love the french accent.

Fair Weather Dude

Riding home in the sun this afternoon I had a fair weather cyclist catch up with me on the bike, I let him go infront of me, he lasted five minutes before he couldn't keep up with me. I got back in front and when I looked round again he must have been more than 400 yards behind me. I found it amusing cos he had a real expensive road bike and seemed to tut at me when he got infront of me at the start of this episode.

Ex-Student Puke

A good mate of mine text me about this little article which featured in an evening paper. Take note I've not got a huge spot near my mouth. My hairline may have receded since this photo was taken.

Its Nice Out

It sure was pleasant out riding my bike this afternoon in the sunshine. On my trip to London I managed to see some new work by Pete Fowler and got me one of his new toys, checked some artwork by Goldie got soaked in the rain. I ate a reet plate of sausages and mash. I ate a medium sized pot of whelks. I spotted an attractive lady in Selfridges who's name I cannot recall but I've seen her in some magazine or tv show.

Culture And Tea

I shall be venturing out of my creative space to digest some culture over the next two days in London. Fear not; I shall make notes and do some doodles along the way. There will be a few cups of Tea drank along the way.

Well Done Sir

Well done Mr Redmond on your application to the RCA, I'm glad that has worked out for you. Just don't forget me when your really famous. I'm sure you will have a great time down there keep me posted on your work. Keep grafting sir. I just wish I had a grey beard and grey hair I'd be and feel like Mr Miyagi of the art world. As luck would have it; I just have a crumbled forehead with receding hairline. On another note at the time of writing I'm hungry but how good is that new bakery advert with Paddy and the dog. You know Paddy usually acts around with mr Peter Kay. Perhaps one day they will invite me to do a talk down the RCA.

Ok readers my dad is becoming obsessed with Transformers the movie he's watched it like twice in as many days. But watched all the dvd extra's. His knowledge of autobots is better than mine he is even talking about director, producer Michael Bay. He is even talking about the music score of the Transformer movie.

Another Bike Ride

I will be out on my bike later this afternoon, keeping fit. There will be a brew along the way. I've had a lazy start to the day reading the papers and watching a film. There may be some doodles done this afternoon.

Easter Weekend

Well readers, I'm partly wishing at 10.06am at time of writing; that I'd perhaps got up earlier and took myself to Manchester for the day to potter about. Part of me wishes there was a lady to entertain in my life. But instead it's looking like I've got a copy of The Watchmen to digest and a kettle. I see Marco Pierre White is back on the tv next week. I shall be missing Harry Hill tonight please Harry return to our screens soon. Ant and Dec are presenting Britain's Got Talent so I can compare my receding hairline with that comedy duo.

Bike Weather

Well I reworked the cyclist I drew up the other day, this is part of an image I've come up with. By eck yesterday I trawled through some imagery of mine from two years back it felt horrible. At least I'm feeling some progression.

The Rock Trust

Here is an image drawn up by myself my donation for The Rock Trust a charity working with young homeless people in the Lothians. A fantastic charity in my book which I'm happy to support. I've drawn up this Captain who is the type to share things with in the tree of trust talk to him about love, life, religion and elephants. perhaps over a brew.

Better Weather

Yesterday I read following the Diet coke advert with Duffy on the bike she's been chosen as the face of encouraging ladies to get on there bikes. Topshop are to launch a range of ladies cycling gear retro caps and snazy bike courier bags and panniers. Which I look forward to seeing if it encourages lasses to get on there bikes.Well hopefully the better weather will encourage some of this to happen, but April is famous for its rain.

Thanks to High Melton college for inviting me across to talk about some of my work and projects, I hope it was a small insight into life as an illustrator. Keep grafting you lot.

Price Of Tea

Ok so yesterday I read that mens magazine Maxim in the Uk is another casualty and will only exist in it's online format. It's still going strong across the pond in America. I also read some crazy article that my cup of tea maybe about to get more expensive. Tea consumption has reached 3.85 million tonnes. While production was 3.78m tonnes. Tea prices have soared as drought hit Kenya aswell as Sri Lanka and India. Perhaps its the buzz about this blog always mentioning cups of tea or through the credit crunch its prompting more of us to reach for a comforting cup of tea. Perhaps I will need to cut back.

There Off

As I write the Grand National is under way after two false starts. I just had a slow start today with little to no energy on my bike. I lost count how many rabbit's i saw this morning first thing. I usually see some foxes kicking about not seen them for a while. But there's always tomoz.

Thursday, 2 April 2009

Well I've had a haircut to smarten my appearance. I added eye surgeon to my CV last night by removing a bit of glass from my sisters eye. My sister was commuting home on the bus when some moron put a brick through the window covering her in glass. Thank goodness she wasn't blinded by this stupid act. It did look like it was gonna be really hot but at my end it's dulled over with the weather.

Little chap

Here you go readers the first image for April 09. Where has the time gone since christmas; time really is flying. I wish I could have got out on my bike. Today's treat will be the Aprentice with Sir Alan Sugar.

Tasks Off Screen

Readers I have a mountain of tasks to perform off the screen for once this afternoon and I better get cracking. It looks a really great day to be out on the bike today, but fat chance for me to work on my tan.
